The urge to download, install and upgrade is suddenly gone!

Is this what an Apple does to you? There is no need to look for the extras, everything is built in, everything works. I miss the ' Windows days' where one had to install the latest patches, constantly upgrade the existing software, add new mp3 players to streaming media players, plugins, certificates, service packs, critical updates, image editors, pdf readers. Aah, the joy of downloading, the joy of rebooting the machine!

The ony things I have installed on the Mac are the standard office apps and a browser(Chimera). Everything else is exisits. Drivers, automatic upgrades, patches et. al.

The withdrawal symptoms started were difficult to control at first but I am much better today.

Its only questions I ask now: So what ARE the next big or small thing from Apple?!

Have read so much about the shuttle tragedy. This article in particular was very moving. A mix of early stage star wars and space odyssey. Made me realise that humans are small after all. Intergalactic travel, time warps, transcivilization expeditions are so easy to imagine. Star Wars 2 ATOC had innumerable ships and armies doodling in space, personal space stations hauled behind personal spaceships for a weekend in the hyperion quandrant... beautiful isnt it? And today, to put 1 bottle of water in space on an unmanned flight, takes a million dollars. I always thought that science would make enough progress during my lifetime but looks like I may not be around when all the good stuff happens! Yes, I may not be around.
